The world lost Snooks Eaglin this week. Hearing Snooks brought back memories of a time when I lived in Louisiana and spent many a weekend in Naw’lens. They have their own way of doing things things in Louisiana and they step that up another notch in New Orleans. Check this and I think you’ll see exactly what I mean – and watch those magic fingers!
I’m have a suspicion why not Snooks is not a name known to all blues fans and why Louisiana, being right between Texas and Mississippi, does not get mentioned nearly as often when blues are being mentioned. The reason, I suspect, is that people from Louisiana like to stay in Louisiana. I met a lot of people down there who never left the state and never wanted to. Ahh, Louisiana the dream state. Luckily we have the internet and we can get a little taste of Louisiana thanks to one man too good to be kept a secret. Thanks Snooks.

Thanks for a great post. I had never heard Snooks work before. I am going to include him in my collection. I love his guitar work.
Thanks! Hey, I just found out that a lot of Snooks Eaglin material is also available on eMusic.com.
