You can tell I’m a fan of lots of old blues but I like new blues too. One of my the ways to discover new blues is to surf over to myspace.com and hear the latest from new artists up there. It was a fine evening indeed the night I found Cee Cee James on myspace.
I suspect Cee Cee is tired of hearing how much her voice reminds us of Janis Joplin but maybe someday someone will hear an old Janis tune and say “sounds like Cee Cee James“. With her talent and the backing of a fine band including the wonderful work of Rob “Slideboy” Andrews I predict this is not the last you’ll hear of Cee Cee James and her band.
Cee Cee has lots more videos and music on her myspace page for you to enjoy and a tour schedule too. Lucky you if you’re in the Pacific North West and have an opportunity to check out this fine display of blues talent. For the rest of us there is myspace, and some CD’s available on CDBaby.
