Jeff Konkel of Broke and Hungry Records was the Blues Foundation’s 2007 Living Blues Award – Producer of the Year, and no stranger to the blues scene. I did a post earlier reviewing Jeff’s list of favorite postwar rural and down-home blues records. Now Jeff has produced M for Mississippi, a great movie best described by the producers themselves as “Everyone knows the blues came from Mississippi. Here’s an update: They never left. This compelling new DVD documents the heart of Mississippi’s current blues scene.”.
