If you’re not up on myspace.com checking out the blues, well do yourself a favor and get on up there. There are lots of great blues artists pages to check out. You’ll find tour dates, bio’s, pictures and of course many excellent tunes. Start by checking out my worldofblues myspace page at www.myspace.com/worldofblues if you like . My Top Friends could read like a who’s who of blues – but then I’m only allowed 40 top friends, still there is a fine selection of blues artists to check out there to get you started. Case in point – Mr. Thelonius James (aka T.J. Sullivan). You just have to check out Thelonius James’ page on myspace as well as well and check out a foot stomping, grinning ear to ear, just can’t help but move while you listen to it blues tune called “Step on the Gas”.
There is a small sample of it here on this Amazon.com widget but it doesn’t do it justice. Go on up to myspace and listen to the whole tune thanks to the generosity of Thelonius James. Then come on back here and buy the mp3 at least or buy the whole album of MP3s. Or go to straight to the source and get this cd from http://tjsullivanmusic.com/
Thelonius was one of my first friends on myspace and one of the reasons I pursued listening to more tunes on myspace. But what I wasn’t aware of is this man is a great acoustic guitar player as well – sit back and check out this youtube video – you’ve got to love the Internet man, myspace, youtube, amazon.com and friends like Thelonius James.
Hey an update from TJ. “I’ve been doing some wonderful gigs with a harpsmith by the name of Gregger Walnum. UTube us for a recent recording of Woman Lookin’ For a Man from my first CD.” Here is the youtube video and don’t forget to visit Thelonius James’ website at http://tjsullivanmusic.com/.
