Hello from Paul Grahovac, a member of the Kansas City Blues Society in the US — home of Trampled Under Foot who won the Blues Foundation competition in 2008. http://www.tufkc.com

Congratulations on your new Blues Society!

My father came from Lika, Croatia. He loved tamburica music and he loved the Blues. They are both all about having passion and loving life dearly.

Loving the blog! Keep up the good work.By the way, your twitter links don’t appear to always be working. Apparently, the links from here go to http://twitter.com/theworldofblues.com instead of http://twitter.com/theworldofblues, and twitter can’t find it. Just so you know!

    Keep livin’ the blues!

Blues man sings original song over phone and gets airtime on CBS radio. Hear the recording and others and the story that goes along with it.

I am interested that you have a “not quite the blues” section (created for Tom Waits?) I kind of fit in that category, I have a new CD out, and I’d like to send it to you guys, hoping to get a review in the “not quite” section!
Title – Big Bang Baby Boom, available from iTunes, CD Baby, etc. where you can hear 30 seconds of each tune. You can hear some full-length tracks on www/myspace/com/nigelecclestonmusic
11 originals, very well written, obviously blues-based but…not quite the blues? I’d appreciate an email either way – nigel@nigelegg.com.
    Thanks for supporting music!

Hi there, just wanted to update you on Oli Brown (Young (20)UK Blues artist)
Here is the press release for his new album, “Heads I Win Tails You Lose”

HEADS I WIN TAILS YOU LOSE (RUF RECORDS)
The eagerly awaited follow up to the debut album Open Road was finally released in the UK and Europe by Ruf Records 26 April 2010 and will be released in America September 2010, although you can buy it NOW from Amazon.com or direct from Oli’s website.

    Here is what some of the UK magazines have said about it;
“the hottest young pistol in British Blues” Mojo
“a British Bluesman to rival Trucks and Bonamassa” Uncut
“Brown’s fretwork really stuns” Classic Rock
“his singing voice is compelling” Guitarist
“the more you hear it the more you love it” Properganda

Heads I Win Tails You Lose features that unique Oli Brown sound; clean guitar, great riffs and a vocal honed by two years of touring that squeezes every emotion from the lyrics.
This album shows the quality of Oli’s song writing with tracks tracks like Evil Soul and Speechless, yet he refuses to shy away from adapting his own favourite classics such as Fever and No Diggity.

Production of the album is by the legendary Mike Vernon (Fleetwood Mac, Eric Clapton, Ten Years After, Freddie King, John Mayall etc).
Mike Vernon was keen to come out of retirement to work with Oli after hearing his debut CD and seeing him performing on You Tube.

Oli has had a phenomenal year; his popularity as a live artist continues to grow and we hope, with this release, there will be no stopping him.

Oli’s successful tour of Europe kicked off in the Spring and was followed by a 15 date sell out tour of the UK in May under the title of New Generation Blues.
The May tour was sponsored and supported by HMV and Planet Rock Radio, the latter giving good airplay support along with some additional support from Total Rock Radio.

The first six months of 2010 culminates with Oli’s debut at the famous Glastonbury Festival and July sees him at the High Voltage Festival in London’s Victoria Park, rubbing shoulders with the likes of ZZ Top..

Plans for the second half of the year include dates in the USA, New Zealand, Belgium and Holland before returning for a short UK tour.

Thanks for the interest in Oli Brown and I hope that you have the opportunity to see him live.(check out his website or You Tube for some live videos.)
    Thanks again.

    Graham
