Alligator Records is a great blues record label that I think almost every blues fan is familiar with. Periodically Alligator Records offers some free MP3s as I’ve listed in this post. When they are updated I retweet this post. Clicking any of these album covers will take you to the page where you can download the MP3s. Note the selection changes so the tune’s I’ve posted may not be the current selection but if its from Alligator you can bet they will be good tunes. Enjoy! Thanks Alligator Records for all you do for the blues and for these free MP3s.

Now normally a post like this would be full of links to online sales and music previews but the deals are great at http://www.yazoorecords.com/ and most of the CD’s I was looking at had the first three songs as streaming media for you to check out so head on over to http://www.yazoorecords.com/ and get yourself a deal. I’ve already placed my order and can’t wait to get my CDs.
Tonight I’m listening to Yellow Dog Records Radio. and man is it ever good! That’s not all, all day I’ve been listening to a free sampler CD that you can get when you buy a CD from Yellow Dog Records (I suspect this offer is time limited so better hurry). The sampler came with a nice letter from Mike Powers from Yellow Dog Records and in it Mike explains that “Yellow Dog Records is young roots label based in Memphis Tennessee, building a reputation for presenting American roots music that is vitally fresh while remaining utterly authentic”. Well he’s right. As I was looking for this letter to quote in this blog I was thinking to myself - man every tune these guys publish is unique - fresh is a great way to put it. And great sound too guys! Check this “The Soul of John Black” video out.
Ok - now do yourself a favor and tune into Yellow Dog Records Radio while you’re checking out the Yellow Dog Records website and pick up some fresh blues. Based on the sampler, I don’t think you’d be disappointed by anything offered by Yellow Dog Records.
